Durga Puja 2026 by metro: the pandals near every Kolkata metro station, and how far each walk is
Get off at Girish Park and 15 pandals are within a kilometre's walk, eight of them within 500 metres. Get off at Jatin Das Park and Hazra Park Durgotsav is 80 metres from the station. Get off at Central Park in Salt Lake and the closest pandal is 800 metres away.
If you're seeing Thakur by metro this Pujo, the station decides how much of your evening goes on walking. I matched each of the 265 pandals on Pujo Map to its nearest metro station, and measured the walk along the streets, not in a straight line. This post is the whole picture, line by line.
It's about distance only. It doesn't rank pandals or say which ones you should see.
When is Durga Puja 2026?
Mahalaya is on Saturday 10 October. Panchami is Friday 16 October, then Shashthi (17), Saptami (18), Ashtami (19), Nabami (20) and Dashami on Wednesday 21 October.
How were the distances measured?
- The pandals are the 265 on Pujo Map as of 5 October 2026, a free map of Kolkata's Durga Puja pandals.
- One station per pandal. Each pandal is counted at the station with the shortest walk to it. A pandal between two stations shows up once, at the nearer one.
- Walking distance. The distance is a walking route along OpenStreetMap streets, rounded to 10 metres. A pandal 300 metres away as the crow flies can easily be a 600-metre walk through the lanes.
- Positions. A few pandal positions are still approximate. The map gets corrected when people report a wrong pin.
Which stations have the most pandals within walking distance?

Look at the "Within 1 km" column before the total. Rabindra Sarobar and Girish Park both have 17 pandals nearest to them, but at Rabindra Sarobar only five are within a kilometre, because the rest are spread around the lakes. At Girish Park, 15 of the 17 are.
Which Blue Line stations should you use?
The Blue Line runs north to south through most of the old city, and most of the pandals sit along it.
North: Shyambazar to Mahatma Gandhi Road
Girish Park has eight pandals within 500 metres: Simla Bayam Samiti (300 m), Kashi Bose Lane (340 m), Narasingha Chandra Daw Bari (360 m), Jorasanko Sadharan Durgotsab Samiti (370 m), Chhatu Babu Latu Babu Bari (380 m), Jorasanko Shib Krishna Daw Bari (420 m), Darjipara Mitra Bari (490 m) and Rabindra Kanan (490 m). Several of these are bonedi bari pujos, held in old family homes.
Shobhabazar Sutanuti puts you 210 metres from Sovabazar Rajbari Chhoto Taraf and 230 metres from Sovabazar Rajbari. Kumartuli Park, by the lanes where the pratimas are made, is 520 metres away.
Mahatma Gandhi Road is small but tight: all eight of its pandals are within a kilometre, six within 500 metres, including Chorbagan Chatterjee Bari and Chorbagan Mitra Bari at 220 metres each.
Shyambazar is the stop for Friends' Union (270 m), Shyam Square (390 m) and the Hatibagan pujos about 600 metres out.
South: Netaji Bhavan to Rabindra Sarobar
Jatin Das Park: Hazra Park Durgotsav (80 m), Sangha Sree (260 m), Forward Club (310 m), Bakul Bagan Sarbojanin (330 m), 64 Pally Durga Puja and Shree Sangha (410 m each), Golmath Durgapuja Samity (440 m).
Kalighat: Suhrid Sangha (130 m), Ashar Sangha and Golden Arrow Club (210 m each), 66 Pally Durga Pujo (340 m), Trikon Park (390 m) and Adi Lake Palli (460 m). Twelve pandals are within a kilometre.
Netaji Bhavan covers Bhowanipore: Bhowanipore 76 Pally and Bhowanipur Durgotsav Maha Puja Samity (300 m each), Bhawanipore Mitra Bari (360 m), Harish Park Byayam Samiti (370 m).
Rabindra Sarobar is closest to Nabapalli Sangha (140 m), Mudiali Club (340 m) and Lake Avenue Sebak Sangha (460 m). The other pandals nearest to it are further out, so expect longer walks.
Further south: Netaji, Masterda Surya Sen, Kavi Nazrul
Netaji (Putiary Club, 310 m; Moore Avenue Puja Committee, 440 m), Masterda Surya Sen (Bansdroni Sarat Sangha, 250 m) and Kavi Nazrul (Naba Durga, 200 m; Pancha Durga, 370 m).
What about the Purple Line and Behala?
The Purple Line runs from Joka to Majerhat through Behala, and the stations sit close to the pandals.
- Behala Chowrasta has six within 500 metres: Nabalila Para United Club (110 m), Barisha Yuba Brinda and Player's Corner (230 m each), Barisha Netaji Sangha (270 m), Janakalyan (310 m), Barisha Nabin Sangha (500 m).
- Behala Bazar has 10 of its 11 pandals within a kilometre, starting with Behala Natun Dal (300 m), Behala Sonar Durga Bari (310 m) and Behala Shree Sangha (320 m).
- Taratala for Behala 29 Pally (260 m) and Aikya Sammilani (430 m).
- Sakher Bazar for Tapoban (190 m) and the Barisha pujos within 800 metres.
The Purple Line has run shorter hours during Pujo than the Blue Line (see below), so check the last train.
And the Green Line, Salt Lake and Howrah?
The Green Line links Howrah, Sealdah and Salt Lake. Sealdah is 400 metres from Potoldanga Sarodiya and 450 metres from Santosh Mitra Square.
In Salt Lake the block pujos are spread across a wide grid, so the walks are longer. The closest pandal to Central Park is 800 metres away. Karunamoyee (CJ Block, 380 m) and City Centre (EC Block, 240 m) put you closer to some of the blocks.
What were the metro timings during Pujo last year?
Metro Railway announces the Pujo timetable shortly before Panchami, so check it then. Last year's (2025) is a fair guide:
| Line | Pujo 2025 timings |
|---|---|
| Blue | Overnight on Saptami, Ashtami and Nabami, 1 pm to 4 am |
| Green | Overnight on the same nights, until about 4:15 am |
| Purple | 3 pm to about 11 pm, a train every 25 minutes |
| Yellow | Until about 10:50 pm |
| Orange | Did not run during Pujo |
If the Orange Line is shut again this year, Kavi Sukanta, VIP Bazar and Satyajit Ray won't help. Plan another way to reach those pandals.
How do you check your station on the day?
Open pujomap.com in your phone's browser. In the menu, choose your station under "Nearest metro". Only the pandals nearest that station stay on the map, each with its walking distance. "Route through these" puts them in order for the shortest walk. There's nothing to install, and it works in English and বাংলা.
Every station also has its own page: Durga Puja pandals near Kolkata metro stations.
